This Colorado shelter is celebrating because it’s empty just in time for the holidays.
It doesn’t happen often, but the kennels at the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region were emptied this Monday, and shelter staff members were celebrating.
According to Fox 31, it was the second consecutive day that all of the available dogs and cats were adopted during the shelter’s Home for the Holidays promotion, giving 25 cats and 23 dogs loving homes just in time for Christmas.
After the final pet was adopted on the second day, the staff members marked the special occasion by partying inside the abandoned kennels.
The shelter expects to get more dogs and cats this week, but that doesn’t lessen the knowledge that this week 48 pets are celebrating with their new families.
