If you have a hard-to-catch horse, then this hilarious parody of Adele’s song “Hello” is sure to strike a chord.
You stand in the field, lead rope in hand, as your horse exhibits all manner of athletic feats necessary to evade you. You spend twenty minutes chasing him, and by the time that you finally manage to pin him into a corner, you’re so tired that you don’t have the energy left to ride anymore. Sound familiar?
If you live the above scenario all too often, then you’re going to love this genius parody of Adele’s mega hit, “Hello.” Complete with a full music video, this version of “Hello” is directed to the hard-to-catch horse. A frustrated owner voices her desperation at the fact that the horse will never willingly come in from his field, and horse owners all over are sure to have firsthand experience with this infuriating scenario.
Take a listen – we’re sure that you’ll love it!
If the above version of “Hello” is a fitting description of your relationship with your horse, here are a few tips that can help you out. Leave your halter on your horse when he’s in the field, but make sure that the halter is either leather or is a breakaway halter in order to keep your horse safe.
When you bring your horse in, make the experience positive for him. Don’t bring him in, ride him heavily, and leave him in his stall – your horse needs to learn that sometimes, you bring him in, give him a treat, and let him go outside again.
Use grooming, hand grazing, and shorter riding sessions as a way to reward your horse for allowing you to catch him and reinforcing the fact that he will get to go back out.
Hopefully your horse will allow you to catch him more easily and you won’t be singing “Hello” to him from across the field each day.
