The Hearty Soul

Brazil Bus Station Opens Its Doors to Freezing Street Dogs

A Brazilian bus station has literally gone to the dogs.

Whether it was the holiday spirit that got to them or a simple act of everyday kindness, employees at the Barreirinha bus terminal in Curitiba, Brazil made Santa's Nice List this year.

Three stray dogs were wandering in the cold outside the station when staff took it upon themselves to offer food, water, and warm, comfy homemade beds.

The animals continue to set up camp inside the station, snuggling up in bed comforters stuffed in large bus tires.

Local politician Fabiane Rosa even commented on the feel good story. She posted on Facebook:

"Congratulations to the terminal staff, everyone understands that these angels are there and have a right to be. So many companies in Curitiba could follow this example, adopting a pet. Of course, it is not the ideal, but at least there are those who are looking after them."

Staff lovingly named the dogs Max, Pitoco, and Zoinho.
