Want to take your own horse sunset pictures? It takes some practice and patience, and it’s easiest if you have a digital camera with manual settings so that you can adjust the camera’s settings for the lighting.

Start by taking pictures before it gets too dark out – take pictures of warm golden light of the late afternoon, since the more light you have, the better a chance that the photo will come out.

Next, progress to trying to capture a silhouette of your horse against the sunset. Look for a setting where your horse’s head or body will be against a clear backdrop so that you can capture what light is remaining.

It’s easiest to stand your horse on a beach, the top of a hill, or other open space. Then, start practicing. With some luck (and understanding your camera’s manual settings), you can get some great pictures of your horse.
